REEL BREAKDOWN
00:05 Mountain. Matte Painting through 3D Projection. The scenery was all from one image. I’ve separated each mountain of forests and placed them in different Z-axis spaces in 3D. The fog effects are separate assets from the original image. Done in Nuke.
00:14 Landwasser Viaduct. The entire background of the main scene was replaced with multiple different images. The fog effects are separate assets from the original image. Sky replacement, fog, and color grading were the main keys to creating the ominous atmosphere. Composited using Nuke.
00:23 Beach. This was one of the scenes I worked on in a group project along with 2 classmates. The theme for our project was “Beach,” and I was responsible for creating a sunset scene. The main focus of my scene was to make it as realistic as possible, and the biggest aspect I believe it helped to achieve was to add the “lens breathing” technique when the “camera” is shifting focus from the beach to the tiki torch. Composited using Nuke.
00:30 Train Compartment. All 3D Modeling/Set Dressing was done through Maya, texture through Adobe Substance Painter, lighting partially Maya and Nuke, compositing and final edits done in Nuke. Responsible for all aspects. Trench coat done by Anna Volkova.
00:39 Royale With Cheese. Responsible for the original greenscreen footage. The greenscreen footage was a still shot, but the background footage I found was a moving shot. I tracked the Eiffel Tower angle movement so my original footage would move as well. Did cleanups and colorgrading to make the scene a bit more cinematographic. Composited using Nuke.
00:48 Ravenswood Generating Station, located in Queens. The original footage was shot in the early afternoon, and I've changed the scene completely tonight. Lights blinking were done for the factory's red light, along with the window lights. Composited using Nuke.
00:55 Green Hallway. The original image was a 2D/still image, and I used separate plates for each visible wall. I’ve also created a shaking camera movement to create a realistic POV of a person walking. Used 3D Projection in Nuke Foundry.
